Golden Oldies

For those of you who remember our early trips back in the 90s, it was a great joy to see Mama and Papa again, still in the same house in the village of Marginea, near Radauti!

They’ve both had health challenges over the years, but they looked pretty good for 90 !  They’ve been married now for 72 years – 2 years ago, to acknowledge 70 years together, the local Mayor sent them a certificate :

It was also great to catch up with Orest and Cristina on a separate occasion.  Orest is one of Mama and Papa’s children (now retired from his most recent career, in politics).  Back in 1990, he was our first contact in Romania.  Here’s Orest with Mark and myself:
